Topic: What case best replaces Hailstorm and? Posted: 22 Nov 2016 at 1:01pm |
I haven't purchased a computer in several years and want to take advantage of DS's Black Friday sale.
Here's my intended system and yes, I do need the best number crunching possible and, yes, one high end video card is adequate for me. Configuration Code: 1528818 Total Price with Instant Savings: $5,352 Load Configuration URL: https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=1528818 If you have any questions or have any questions or comments regarding this configuration, please send us a message: https://www.digitalstorm.com/request-help.asp Specifications: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Digital Storm Velox
Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Not Available Processor: Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 6950X 3.0GHz (10-Core) (Extreme Performance) Motherboard: ASUS X99-DELUXE II (Intel X99 Chipset) (Up to 4x PCI-E Devices) System Memory: 32GB DDR4 2666MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series Power Supply: 1000W Corsair HX1000i (Digitally Controlled Power) Expansion Bay: Option Not Available Optical Drive: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 8x / CD-Writer 8x) (Internal) Storage Set 1: 1x SSD M.2 (512GB Samsung 950 PRO) (NVM Express) (Extreme Performance) Storage Set 2: - No Thanks Storage Set 3: - No Thanks RAID Config: - No Thanks RAID Card: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Graphics Card(s): 1x GeForce GTX 1070 8GB (NVIDIA Founders Edition) (VR Ready) Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio HPC Processor: - No Thanks Extreme Cooling: H20: HydroLux PRO: Exotic Custom Cooling System (CPU Only) HydroLux Tubing Style: Flexible Tubing (Requires HydroLux Liquid Cooling System) HydroLux Fluid Color: Red Fluid (Requires HydroLux Liquid Cooling System) Cable Management: Premium Cable Management (Strategically Routed & Organized for Airflow) Chassis Fans: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Digital Storm RGB LED Lighting System (Requires Thermal Management Control Board & Software) Airflow Control: Digital Storm Thermal Management Control Board & Software Chassis Mods: Fan Blow-Holes: CPU & Graphics Card Area: Laser Cut and Mount (2x) Side Window 140mm Fans Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Stage 1: Overclock CPU - Up to 4.4GHz (Depends on Cooling and Motherboard)
Boost Graphics Card(s): - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost OS: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows CD) Virus Protection: FREE: McAfee AntiVirus Plus (1 Year Service Activation Card) (Not Pre-installed) ($35 Value) Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks Branded Gear: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 15-20 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty (3 Year Labor & 1 Year Part Replacement) Originally I spec'd this system with the Hailstorm case but that doesn't qualify for free shipping. Is the Velox case the best replacement that can be shipped free. It look like it can also take some side hole for extra fans that I'd like for even more cooling. One question, what O/C is DS typically getting with these new 10 core chips? Thx for any advice ... neilkaz ... |

Probably the Velox, but the Apollo's Corsair 760 t would also work just fine for your setup.
Not sure about the oc, I'd ask DS. On water, the 4.4 should be typical. |

That I will once I know what the O/C is. This is my 4th DS computer and I expect that over subsequent years I'll order more.
