I recently purchased a VANQUISH 3 level 2 computer. Config ID DOS-781338. Was wondering if there is any room to add a sound card some day.

- 120GB Samsung EVO SSD

Hi LeeEricson.... Without knowing the exact motherboard I can't say 100%, but chances are , below the gtx 960, is an empty PciEx1 slot an audio card will slide into.   Just make sure the audio card has the Pciex1 interface. Most do, but older ones might have a Pci connector.

Hope this helps and good luck.

There I most likely room. The graphics card only takes up two slots and the motherboard will have at least 3, probably with a PCI-e x1 slot that can accept a sound card.

Why do you want a sound card? The only good reason to get one is if you have or are getting high quality headphones with a 1/4" jack. Otherwise, you would be better off spending that money on higher quality speakers/amps and use the sound processing on the motherboard.

I was not aware the sound processor was that good on the mother board. I just have a cheep pair of speakers on it now. Any suggestions on the speakers. Seems to be a lot out there.   Thanks for the info

A few dB of signal gains with as little noise there is won't gain you much. A better speaker response will get you much better sound from the system...especially on the low end with these kinds of setups.
