I got a few questions about the Corsair Link software. First off I have Core i7 4790K OC, H100i water cooling, GTX 970 SC ACX and Windows 7.
The Corsair Link software automatically starts after boot using the Administrator account. Although I created my own separate account with administrative rights and it no longer starts after boot. I'll have to manually click on the icon to start it up. The 'start with windows' checkbox is selected in the options as well. Now a question about the Nvidia ShadowPlay. It works flawlessly but it only seems to work when I have the software open. Even though the Nvidia Experience starts at boot and ShadowPlay is enabled. I'll have to open up the ShadowPlay dialog / options box for it to work in-game. Is this as intended or is there a way to always have it on? *Please note these images are taken from Google and don't completely represent my configurations / software versions. Thanks! |

For Shadow play, yes. It's still in beta. If you're just using it to record... keep on going. It's better than fraps to a point.
If you're using it to stream. I wouldn't for now. Either way, yea. Beta, glitchy to a point. Have to have it open. As for Corsair link. You could always uninstall it. Go to Corsair, navigate to their forums as that's where they usually post the most update version and redownload it and install it. Even have you check the run at windows startup, it still won't auto open and run for you? Try right clicking on it and running as an administrator, then check the box.. But i'm pretty sure it's tied into the original main admin account and wants to follow that more than anything. Those are the only two options I can think of short of contacting Corsair and talking to them about it. |

The program does not auto open and run for my second account (don't see the icon in the taskbar either) until I open it myself, manually.

Here's a link where Ram Guy guides a new re install of the software..
http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=118618 In it they talk of disabling Legacy USB in the Bios which I had read elsewhere. Hope it helps. |

Let us know how you make out. I'm sure others have the same question.
Corsair Link will adjust fans but I personally never got into that software. It was buggy when I tried it a year or so ago so dumped it and use Precision X for the gpu. I'm sure it's better now. Edited by bprat22 - 05 Nov 2014 at 12:26pm |

I will let you know when I can.
Corsair Link is actually pretty neat. I've been messing around with it and besides the few issues I described above everything works great. I love how it has visual representations of all components of my computer and I can easily configure what I want to see. Not to mention it's all in one software. I'll probably end up getting PrecisionX alongside Corsair Link just to control my GPU if Corsair Link doesn't support that. |

First off, I just said reinstall it? Seriously, I'm getting pretty fed up with giving advice around here.
Nextly, I'm not sure why you're talking about overclocking in the bios when the topic is Corsair Link. Thirdly, go to the forums for corsair as I originally said. Here, I'll even post the link for you. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=118618 You can open CorsairLINK > Options > About > There's your version, along with firmware version of your H100i. I very heavily use CorsairLINK. I have a vast amount of corsair "i" devicies in my system and it has some truly good benefits. Especially if you use it for everything it's designed to do. If you're a novice, then appreciate it for your monitoring features as that's pretty much the extent of what you can do until yyou get a little more knowledgeable and advanced. Now, as for disabling the legacy device for USB's in the bios. That applies if you're plugging your H100i into an old motherboard with outdated USB headers. It aalso applies if you can't get say a 1200i to show up wwhen you have it plugged into the com port on the H100i. You can control the fans for your GPU through it, but it's not the best for that. It's best for controlling fan speeds on a corsair link device that isn't plugged directly into the motherboard, and monitoring. It's mainly a monitoring tool. PrecisionX 16 would give you the ability to create a fan curve for your GPU, though if you're not doing extremely overclocking, the default fan curve is ideal. -_- *sighs* I feel like I just talk and people don't listen half the time. It's tiring is what it is. Perhaps I need to take a break from the forums for a while.

Meller, you give excellent advice, some of the best we've seen. And I agree, helping out a lot can be tiring, especially with configs and looking for info to help others. I've been doing it for over 3 years, and sometimes I lay back for an afternoon, or a day to recharge.
Others following up on others advice isn't meant as a zing, but just another voice that might or might not help. No lecture, just from my perspective. Stick round. But we will follow you. |

I didn't intend to frustrate you Meller, I apologize. I greatly appreciate your advice but I was just stating my concerns with uninstalling software that came preinstalled with my machine.
I have no experience with OC and I don't want to f**k anything up with this glorious monster I have now. |

Oh, this is so wrong.. but when I read Meller's response and subsequent "-_- *sighs* I feel like I just talk and people don't listen half the time." The Big Bang Theory came to mind. Specifically Season 4, Episode 14 where Sheldon fails to make an impression as a guest lecturer... As he's speaking to Amy... this:
********* Amy: All right. Have you considered improving your socialization skills, thus allowing you to communicate more effectively with other people? Sheldon: Isn't that their burden? I’m the one with something interesting to say. ********** Oh Meller, Sometimes you have to remember that there are some people here who speak the same language you do, but the rest of us are just trying to muddle through. |

Re-installing Corsair Link did not resolve the 'start with windows' issue. Going to try the Corsair forums. Will post here if I find a solution so if anyone else it having this issue.

Well, before I stopped using Corsair Link entirely, my problem was the Scheduled Task that was running. Since I created a new Windows account the task was trying to run using the wrong account. I changed that and my problem was solved. But I don't use Corsair Link anymore because honestly the software is sh*t. |
