Fan curve....please? Auto simply selects a fan speed slightly above quiet but only goes a little higher and gets no where near extreme when under heavy load.
This means I sometimes need to fiddle around with quiet's settings to get fans to go just a bit faster. |

You're right, we took a lot of feedback and are working on launching a whole new control system (hardware + software) in the next 2-3 months. The new system also reads software temperatures and allows you to make adjustments based on thermal ranges.
Once this is out, we'll be happy to offer it to existing customers at 50% discount. Feel free to email me to follow up once it's out ([email protected]). |

As long as it's posted to the announcement forums I'll keep a look out for it.

Out of curiosity, why wouldn't you just take the AquaComputer Aquaero 6 LT and maybe put a skin over the software control panel? Seems like a lot of effort to develop something that has very limited production, especially when there is already a very feature rich product at a similar price point already on the market. |

Actually, I did come up with a question. If new hardware is involved will the new fan controller fit in the same place as the current one in the Bolt 3? Will it need an adapter? etc.

(1) Companies won't release us to use their hardware/software with our skin unless either we pay them a lot of money or they want their name placed in a prime position. We're already working with a company that makes such solutions for many companies, it's coming along well.
(2) The new hardware will just have inputs for existing fans and LED lighting, so no adpaters are needed. |

Same goes for the thermal nodes inputs placed throughout the case? Or will the new software use the systems sensors instead?

New software will be using actual sensor data via software and not hardware probes.
ETA on this is around September. |

I can't wait. Does this also mean I can remove those pesky probes all over the place in the Bolt 3?

That's not the new model we're preparing to launch. He's not familiar with the new upcoming unit. He's most likely referring to the latest revision of the current unit (minor internal changes) which does not have any software changes.

Any news on this new Fan Controller Alex? I came home yesterday to see yellow lights which reminded me of this pesky auto mode not turning fans up high enough.

Not yet, still being worked on, the model we had was discarded and a new one went into production due to the new RGB fans on the market now and new addressable RGB LED strips. The team wants to make sure our new version supports all of this.
We're aiming to have it ready by CES and launch by Q1 next year. |

Popping in here to see if there's been an update? I have a Hailstorm II, and absolutely hate with a passion the current fan controller and software. I'm hoping I'll be able to replace the system with this new one, otherwise I'll have to find a third-party system as this is absolutely useless. Fan controls are almost impossible as the software constantly resets the position of the fine-tuning, and the optimization modes don't seem to do anything if you've ever touched fine-tuning. There's also no way to set all fans to run at X speed on a constant basis.

While I like DS more than most, they generally lag behind their Q* predictions. Hopefully Alex can provide something for everyone though.

Sorry but it's still in the works at the moment. This might not come anytime soon.
Any new solution that we offer is going to be a full replacement and won't be an easy drop in. If the control board you have is not working, please contact our support staff, we will be more than happy to help troubleshoot and even replace the board for you per warranty terms. |
