Hi Everyone,

I was thinking of an idea on how to promote more customer reviews/unboxing videos. For all new customers, if they post their unboxing with photos/video we would offer them a special Digital Storm exclusive collectors item or something.

This would help get more customers posting on the forums and sharing their awesome systems.

I would strongly support this. I think this has been thrown around as an idea at least a couple times on the forums (though I'm sure you've discussed it behind closed doors at DS as well).

This is a good forum community, though it's actually fairly small in comparison to DS' market presence, so it'd be nice to see that grow.

Providing carrots on a stick for reviews and unboxings would be a great start. You'd obviously want some sort of quality threshold, otherwise you'd end up with things like "THIS RIG ROX - give me free things" reviews/unboxings with no substance.

Also, a more formalized system of submitting reviews or videos might be nice, as the current system of posting them in the general forum and then having staff move them seems a bit inefficient. For instance I've seen more than a couple reviews that were substantive that never made it to the review section. For instance my 2nd DS review never made it there (not to toot my own horn, but it's just an example of how it can happen).
