Topic: Questions w/Hydrolux Copper WC Posted: 26 Dec 2014 at 7:31pm |
i'm interested in either this or the acrylic wc options for full system coverage and would like to know if anyone has experienced galvanic corrosion (radiator, fittings, gpu blocks, etc.) and flaking of the nickel plating with this cooling solution installed in their system?
i understand this can occur at locations where the fluid might pool/doesn't move as well through the loop. for those who've had the system for any length of time: 1) any tips on maintenance 2) special fluids or additives 3) additional thoughts thanks in advance. I don't have personal experience with their custom loops, but I do know they use FluidXP that has corrosion inhibitors. I do not believe they have materials like aluminum in their the custom loops; it is the potential difference between the alloys in the system that will give you galvanic corrosion.

Speaking of which, Meller needs to post up the pics of his 3-way SLI water-cooled 980 Classifieds, still.
