3 (unrelated) questions with VELOX build:
1) Is it possible to add any additional expansion to FRONT of the Velox case? For example, a second optical drive or more USB 3.0 ports? 2) How robust is the acrylic/hard-line cooling (CPU + 2 GPU)? I will need to move the case around a fair bit (ex. slide it forward to access rear connections while powered on). Is this movement likely to cause a connection to detach or tubing to break? Colored water fountain in new $$$ system = not cool! 3) What type of SLI bridge would DS use for an ASUS ROG Edition 10 motherboard with EVGA 1080 Classified in SLI x2? Hopefully the new (hard) HB-SLI bridge (high-bandwidth)? I am not sure if these are supplied with motherboard (ASUS), GPU (EVGA), waterblock maker (EBWB) etc. |

1. That actual case no based on the pics, but you can always go with a different case.
2. It should not talk to DS and see what they recommend for your situation. 3. Not sure but I think it has to be the new one tho I'm not sure. |

1) you can use an external optical drive. You can put additional USB ports in the back in the PCI brackets...there are many adapters sold to do that. The front panel is essentially fixed.
2) Perhaps not break it, but it could leak a little around the tube seals. Flexible may be a better choice for you. 3) It's been noted that Nvidia's HB-SLI bridge is incompatible with the EK blocks. EVGA is coming out with their version of the HB-SLI bridge, but it doesn't appear to be up for sale yet. DS hasn't offered the Classified card since the 780 Ti...not to say they won't offer it again, but you may have to special order them, so they won't be under DS' warranty (but still will but under EVGA). The Classified block from EK also won't be out until the end of July, FYI (although the EVGA HB-SLI bridge may be out by then, at least). |

Thanks. I just read EKWB is making their own HB SLI bridge. I assume DS would have to use this for their SLIx2 with custom water cool / 2 GPU option?

If they go with ek, then there is no other choice. They would have to use Ed's bridge. Unless other bridge like evga's would be compatible.

(2) You can move the system around with rigid tubing, it will not cause it to get loose.
(3) We don't have them in-stock at the moment, we anticipate them to arrive in the next 1-2 weeks from NVIDIA... they will be $30. We most likely will not buy the EK version... what we do is modify the NVIDIA version by removing the plastic shroud. |
