I just learned/read that the Aventum 3 is 'back-ordered' with a ETA of early August this year. I have the money and was totally ready to purchase one (only waiting on a third party GTX 1080 instead of the nVidia FE), but now just read about the Aventum 3 back-order. So, since I am not going to wait yet another 1 1/2 months to order my custom PC, I'm moving on. Having said that, I'll be back next year to see what Digital Storm will have to offer at that time. :)

Why can't you get a similar system that is ot Aventum. Also contact management and see what they say.

The Aventum case is one of the best PC cases I've ever seen (or read/learned about)
Ive had the funds for weeks now, and something was telling me to just order the now and not wait. The one I configured was about 9 grand lolzz. :D |

not sure why you're "moving on"? i mean, it's not like you can get an Aventum 3 from someone else, lol! it's a custom case by DS.

Are you sure you won't be kicking yourself from getting your system too early?

I mean, I'd take that Corsair 900D any day if the Aventum was out of stock. The hailstorm has enough room in it to give you 2x 480mm rad, 2x 240mm rad, and 1x 120/140mm rad. Plus, you can add the "mod" for the base plate (Which I think cleans it up so nicely).

Hello, everyone...
I appreciate and am thankful for everyone's suggestions and input. Thank you. I've decided to go with Hailstorm 2 as I can run the very same components and hardware as I was going to put in the Aventum 3.I don't know why I was thinking I wasn't going to be able to do that (???), lol... I spoke with a sales person from DS earlier today. I will have to wait for another week or two anyways. That is when I can expect DS to carry 3rd party nvidia cards such as Asus, etc. for the new GTX 1080. |

You can fit just about anything in that 900d (hailstorm).
As long as you have the need for all the stuff you want to get. I would wait for evga personally. |

I'm with you in regards to EVGA, but I had read somewhere that DS might be going with ASUS this time. Are you talking about going to EVGA on your own, asdie from DS building the PC? |

Feel free to buy it and have it sent to DS for install or have DS order it for you and use it.
Its a custom builder, we are in control of what we want/get. Keep in mind custom = little more $ never hurts to ask tho Edited by DST4ME - 17 Jun 2016 at 4:47pm |

Wow, so DS will order me the cards and install them? I could do it myself, but I don't want to void warranty. How would I go about having DS do this - should I call or would email be better? Thanks!! |

Not sure how they do it these days.
adding to your system does not void warranty. for example if you add your own gpu, your gpu will not be under warranty of DS of course but your system's warranty is still very valid. If I remember correctly and if they still do it you can either: 1. have them order it for you and install it. this will put your gpu under DS warranty but will cost you a little extra. 2. You buy it and have it shipped to them for install. this does not put your gpu under warranty. 3. you buy it and install it yourself, we can help do it if you need help. this does not put your gpu under warranty. all 3 ways keep your DS system's warranty |

Actually, DS does not warranty custom ordered components. However, EVGA (for Nvidia) and XFX (for AMD) GPUs retain their warranty if you remove their stock cooler and replace them with water block (you just need to put the original cooler back on if you need to return it). I wouldn't worry about dealing with EVGA customer support rather than DS...it is Asus and other vendors that have less than great customer support (that being said, I personally have had good customer support from Asus dealing with their Trust Platform Module, but I've read about some RMA horror stories with motherboards).
You may want to check out the MSI GTX 1080 Sea Hawk EK X that comes with a water block on it. MSI has really good board design, rivaling that of EVGA. Their warranty has been lacking, but if it comes with a water block, then there is no worries about voiding it. MSI was also the major supporter of the development of the Afterburner software for overclocking GPUs, and as such, you have additional voltage tweaking options opened up to you (PLL auxiliary voltages) when you go to overclock to card. EVGA also has the Hydro Copper cards that come with the water block installed. However, they are switching away from using EK water blocks, so I think their performance won't be as good. EK and now Aquacomputer use jet impingement cooling instead of the traditional side-to-side flow that is traditionally done. |

Well that sucks, that was a great option we had, I guess it didn't workout for them.
