Is there any mobo on the market that supports true 6Gb SATA III bandwith?
I eard claims that AMD Seris 8 chipset and a new Intel socket 1155/p67 will.

Does this make my EVGA x58 SLI 3 Edition mobo obsolete, already?

NO, sandy bridge is the replacement for the 1156 socket.. If you do a search you will see that when the 1156 platform came out I called it dead before it was released, because it came out way after the X58, and is replaced before it. lol

Then back to my original question........is there any mobo on the market that truely supports the full capabilities of SATA III? In October last, the consensus was no. Has that changed/

I ask this question because of a discussion on another forum regarding gaming hardware. I am proud of my new DS purchase, so I want to crow while the sun still shines, insofar as my limited 1's 'n 0's knowledge allows.
It is my underdtanding that true SATA III bandwidth is limited due to Intel chipset limitations and the Marvell controller on on the EVGA mobo's.

That pretty much holds true for all mobos, marvel and intel.
