The 680i motherboard does not support the Q9300. You will need to select a 750i, 780i, P45, or X48 board for any of the Q9 quads.
550W to 650W is only like $10.. so why not? Intel > AMD if the price is equal. You need a 64-bit operating system to utilize 4GB. |

you can't stick a q9300 on a 680i
go with a 780i mobo so atleast you can upgrade to the q9650 down the road. get a bigger psu, like a 750w, so you can go dual 260 gtx down the road if you need to. just some ideas. |

You don't need a 750W PSU since the 650i can't do SLI.

If I were you I would save another $500 and comeback and get a LC system, I doubt you will be able to get a LC system that can be upgraded for 1300.

acs, what exactly are you wanting the pc to do? Do you want to upgrade in the future? As DST mentioned above, you can have room to upgrade if you go with his idea.

Well, I just like playing some fps games [cod4, far cry2 etc..] NOT max resolution!! 1024x would be more than enough..I posted my final build above this post.I think that system would run the latest games just fine without haveing to upgrade for another 6 months..My real decision is between the 9800gx2 vs gtx260.. I have a 1300$ limit..within that i welcome any combinations.
