if i overclock my DS i7-920 stock, will it void my warranty? and will it be safe because i would like it to be between 3.2 - 3.8 ghz but it's air cooling .. the HAF 922 with Cooler Master V8?

this will be my 1st time overclocking .. any helpful advice and links would be greatly appreciated !!

check out evga's forums they have some great help with ocing.

your v8 and haf 922 are up to the challenge, but I'm not sure how your warranty will workout.

your tower + cooler is good enough to OC,

what type of ram are you running with those ?
with what timings ?
make sure you OC slowly, from bariely increasing and going step by step.
OC doesnt void warranty untill it you fry it.

They wouldn't really know unless you fry it.

Best advice I can give is DO NOT, unless you have to.
Increase voltage. Try to Increase your OC without Upping your voltage.

took me 4 hours to set my OC
intel c2d e8500 @ 4ghz stable for months now without turning off my pc.
on air cooling

thanks. i know more about overclocking .. studying for a few weeks now.

fortunately, DS oc'd my system to 3.766 ghz on v8 cooling. i thought it was too much, but DS said everything passed. i'm getting my pc on friday .. i may decrease the vcore a bit and test it with prime95. current vcore is 1.35v.

just need to see my temps .. i may install koolance exos-2, v2 early next year.

your temps and vcore is/are fine, 3.7 is not a high oc for the 920. I would leave it alone, you can try to see the lowest vcore you can run 3.7 at but even at 1.35 you are good for many years.

haha me ? yeah, I'm actually korean, Not sure if that is a bad thing or a good thing.
I know the rep koreans have and it makes me not like other koreans.
didnt mean to sound so ignorant or arrogant at the same time.

but yeah as DST stated you should be fine, and DS really does know what they are doing and make sure they ship it out with some juice left.

I havnt tried the V8's but I have installed a V10 on my friends pc.
I think they are on different technology (v10 is thermalelectric hybird cooling)
And those 920's can OC to 4ghz on good cooling and good oc settings

understandable, but not everyone's the same. one's actions doesn't speak for the whole .. i'm Korean as well. your name and the 'Kim' in the email address made me curious, haha.

v8 is huge, the v10 is a beast !! i wouldn't dare install it in anyone's mobo, let alone mine.

adasa? that swahili for "hahaha"? Seriously, i'm not a fan of the V10.. makes it too hard to get to the memory AND weighs too much.

Lets send him spam of Hello Kitty stuff!! one of my friends just did that to me... laughed for an hour then made him read them all and delete.
