You are at the right site. DS is the way to go or possibly OriginPC. From personal experience i would say stay away from Alienware.

I dont think Origin PC is the way to go MasterAssassin. look here: http://www.seflorida.bbb.org/Business-Report/Origin-PC-92018296. The BBB (Better Business Bureau) gave them an F rating.

While Digital Storm gets and A+ rating: http://www.bbb.org/greater-san-francisco/business-reviews/computers-wholesale-and-manufacturers/digital-storm-in-fremont-ca-301630.

ShockedBullseye.

No, Alienware is some of the most OVERPRICED computer systems in the world. Anyway, they are now owned and operated by DELL and from what I've heard their previously large range of customization options is now SEVERELY limited.Ouch.....JPT

Shocked@ MasterAssassin,

Imho you are probably at the best all around site. Ther are more expensive builders and certainly less expensive ones, but after doing 6 months of researching blogs, reviews, forums, BBB, etc. I finally settled on Digital Storm.

Most of the reviews you read in this forum will be glowing, but hey, it's their website. For an unbiased, third party rating, with complaint forums for ANY company....Go to - re   sell   er   rat   ings         - and check it out.( had to put the blanks on the URL of the forum gods edit it out)Ouch
.

Hope this helps........JPT

Stay away from Alienware. Had nothing but problems with their laptops and service was awful when i tried to order their new desktop. Ended up canceling and ordered from DS. Very pleased with the ordering process at DS. Did not know about Origin PC bad ratings. Thanks for the heads-up. Only considered them because we are both on the East Coast but the high BBB rating for DS made the difference for me.

are you joking? the best AW can't hold a candle to the best DS system.

AW does not even offer the things DS offers, I would't even take a piss on AW's LC system.

come on boss

lol DST4ME wow about the LC... but Alienware's Area 51 is pretty nice as well: http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&oc=DPCWHX1&s=dhs. On that page you can customize the specs you want. But Alienware got a B- with the BBB: http://www.bbb.org/central-texas/business-reviews/computers-dealers/alienware-in-round-rock-tx-90019025. Also, What is the best Digital Storm Computer and can you give a link?

lol who do you think I am a noob? I'm very well aware of the limited customization stupid AW does.

show me where I can pick a oc of 3.6 or 4.0.

show me where I can pick a 920 for oc on that page.

show me where I can pick a proper case instead of the bs they have.

show me where I can pick a 5850/275 etc from that page.

show me where I can pick a 1600MHz ram in that page, very big deal specially for people who want to oc that very expensive 975 AW wants an arm and leg for.

show me where I can pick a ocz/intel/corsair and in different sizes.

show me where I can pick a different sound card then creative.

show me where I can pick a good cpu cooler like v8 or Noctua

show me where I can pick a good LC system and not one that will barely do what asetek does.

should I keep going?

best pc comparing to AW or best pc DS has? cause as you know you can customize the hell over here, and if you do so the price and performance will surpass AW.

but I can still beat an AW with a simple 920 on stage 1 oc and game is over.

truth be told it was worst before dell got them, when dell bought them, they AW was at its worst, from orders taking 3 month to build to worst customer svc you ever got, Dell actually made it better if you ask me.

Shocked@ firebolt059,

I don't think you'll find a "link" to the best Digital Storm computer because it doesn't exist.....and that's the whole idea here.

The best computer you can buy, at any price, is the one built EXACTLY to your specifications.

Sure, DS has some preconfigurations you can buy and they are killer in the reviews I seen, especially when being compared to other brands. DS has a list of options for customization and upgrade.

However, from what I understand, if you don't see a part you want for your dream machine at the DS website, call them and they'll procure it and put it in your build.

Somebody started a thread about a $10,000 computer and a few of us tried to spend that much and build a "super computer". Of course, DST4ME came along and told us where we were wasting money on non essentials and combinations that were incompatable, and he was right. It's actually pretty hard, at least for me, to spend $10,000 fantasy dollars at this website.

So basically, if ANY part can be put in a DS computer; their "best" computer will NEVER be built. As, 0sandman0 put so succinctly: "There will ALWAYS be room for upgrades."Ouch........JPT

I configured some PC's on some other system builder web sites for shoots and gigs.  Some of the things I came away with is that AW has what looks like alot of proprietary parts and has small power supplies for the money (limits upgrades).  Also, nobody offered the options that DS does with non-proprietary parts.  In fact I thought that the options offered on the sites I tried were pale in comparison.
Also, if you are your average joe American then company's with off shore support should not even be an option.  Because when you get into trouble and need tech service it is worthless with someone that doesn't even speak clear english and doesn't know anything about the subject they speak of.  Just my experience but they become quite ignorant very quickly.

well, this is my first post here, but i after reading through i noticed someone say CyberpowerPC.  I will tell you, they are horrible.  I recieved a DOA machine from them and had to send it back.  3 weeks later I got it back and it was again DOA.  After talking to the tech support (which is horrible to get in touch with) I ended up trying to swap out the power supply (which i knew wasnt the problem but they asked me to try it).  it didnt work, so I sent it back for a refund.

Im not the only one over there with the exact same problems.  Their forums are filled with people who have recieved machines that didnt work or had serious issues.  The forum moderators just end up locking your thread after enough people post on it...or deleting it outright.  I cant believe how bad they are.

Im so nervous about buying another gaming computer now.  (since it cost me over 300.00 in shipping charges for my POS cyberpower DOA machine)  Ive been combing through the different gaming PC sites and so far DS looks the best.

I'm the CEO of ORIGIN PC.  We keep track of what customers, reporters, fans, haters, and basically anyone on the web says about us so that we can continue to evolve and provide the best service and products possible.  I don't normally respond to any posts but I felt the need to respond to this one in particular because there is incorrect information about ORIGIN in it.

Our BBB rating is not an F, it's actually a B which is the highest rating that new businesses receive until they either receive complaints and your rating goes down down or after one year your rating can go up.  We have not received a single complaint.

Firebolt, you didn't do anything wrong, you posted what you saw but the BBB had incorrectly marked as an F and when we pointed it out they changed it the same day to the correct rating.

Carry on!   :)

Similarly to my response in another thread related to a similiar topic, I am going to go ahead and close this thread.

Everyone, let's stay on topic of things related to Digital Storm only and not to the comments of other businesses.

We welcome all competitors and welcome Origin PC to the market. The more businesses we have creating a market for gaming computers, the better.
