I am thinking about getting this build:
Updated: https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=1345830

I'm not too big on the budget just around 3k is fine.

My biggest question is on the fans. Are there two fans mounted on the side of the case? I know there are three in the front, one in the back, and probably one on top.

But from the pictures I have found on the internet some of them have two fans mounted on the side and others do not.

Here is one that has it.

And here is one that doesn't:

I want to make sure the one I order has the two fans on the side. Since I will be doing air cooling on the GPU.

My second question is on the memory. If I get 32gb of memory is that going to come as 4 x 8gb?

If anyone has any recommendations on changes to my configuration please let me know what I can do to improve anything. This build is really just for gaming. I want to make sure I get to run my graphics on high or better.

I will also be running with just one large monitor.

Hi MicroPro27....  That's a real nice rig.  Strong

I would suggest changing the HDD to the Western Digital Black for a more reliable and much longer warranty.

Change the DS Vortex 240mm cooler for the Corsiar 100i.  The Corsair has a 5 year warranty and the DS Vortex might only have a warranty that matches the system , 5 years labor and 3 years parts with the promo.  You could ask DS to verify the warranty.

The Velox from what I've seen, does come with the side panel fans, but again, you'd have to verfiy with them.  It could depend on the build, like water cooled cards, etc.  I would think your air cooled 980 ti would have the fans.

Get the 980ti Strix if budget allows.  It comes with a factory overclock and the board itself is better quality with stronger circuitry .  Plus 0 rpm fans at lower temps.  It does however dump most of its heat into the case as opposed to the reference cards exiting the heat out the back.  With the airflow of the Velox, it shouldn't be any problem, if if you went sli.

Ram should be 4x8gb.  It is a quad channel motherboard.

Hope this helps and good luck. Big%20Smile

I have seen enough builds to make me think that the Velox doesn't come standard with the two side fans. I think the ones that get them are the ones who order the fan upgrade with up to six fans.

Maybe Alex can help us out here.

I'm pretty sure, way back when, that the side fans were mentioned as standard.  BUT, I'm going on my memory Cry and things do change at DS.

Alex could settle this, like Frank said.  Big%20Smile

Thank you all for the responses.

I remember Alex helping me 5+ years ago with my first Digital Storm computer build. :)

the configurator is a little vague on the point of the fans, but if you look under the fan/cooling section it does say to look at the case config.  going by that the Velox says it has mounts for: 3x140mm front intake; 2x either 120mm or 140mm top; 1x120mm motherboard; 2x140mm right side door; and 1x140mm rear fans.  i'd certainly want clarification, but based on the fact that this is one of their custom in house jobs i'd lean towards you getting all 9 fans.  when i ordered my Aventum 3 i asked about the fan upgrade only supporting (up to) 6 fans and they said that if i chose the upgrade they'd include all 15 fans!

I changed my build a bit. Here is my new build.
https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=1345830

I decided to go with a SLI configuration. I'll have to check with the support about the fans before I proceed. And if anyone knows any changes I need to make please let me know.

Thanks.
