I noticed that the i5 2500 cpu is supposed to use 1.5v ram.
The corsair dominator ram is 1.8v
Is that a problem?

actually the Corsair Dominator is rated at 1.65V.
Most sticks set at 1.5V to 1.55V and still run rated timings.
short answer, no it is not a problem running the Corsair RAM on the Intel sandy bridge platform.
