So I've gone through a bunch different configuration and probably would settle with the following:

Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master Elite 310
Processor: Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz (Quad Core)
Motherboard: EVGA X58 LE Edition SLI (Intel X58 Chipset) (Supports SLI or CrossFire)
System Memory: 6GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified by mushkin enhanced (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested)
Power Supply: 750W Corsair TX (Dual SLI Compatible)
Expansion Bay: - Not Available
Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (1TB Seagate/Western Digital (7200 RPM) (32MB Cache) (SATA) (Extreme Speed)
Optical Drive 1: DVD±R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 20x / CD-Writer 48x)
Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections)
Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 2GB (Includes PhysX Technology)
Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio
Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 1: Noctua Dual 120mm Fans High Performance Cooler (Compatible With ONLY i7 Processors)
Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans
Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Red)
Boost Processor: Stage 1: Overclock the processor between 3.3GHz to 3.9GHz (Requires Air Cooling Upgrade)
Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition)
Restore Kit: Digital Storm Specialized Recovery System (DVD Image Based)

I've deleted the parts that are N/A,

Besides the above setting, I'm going to get 6gb more ram.

So any problem in my build?
(if things all fit in? enough cooling? enough power supply? compatibility issue with OC, 12 GB ram, GTX 285?)

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my budget is 2000-3000. in fact below 2500 would be better.

I do play crysis warhead and similar games in the future.

primarily I use this computer for heavy illustrator, photoshop work and intensive CAD, rhino and maya renderings.

my dual monitor is ASUS and DELL 22", so I won't be gaming beyond 1680x1050.

also I Love liquid cooling but I'm reluctant for security and maintainence issues.

let me know if liquid cooling is safer for long range shipping and how often it needs to be maintained

Thanks Sarah,

Although

1. I wonder if I must have the 1000W supply, I don't think I will ever go with triple video card.

2. Is dual GTX 275 better than single GTX 285, though I wish I can have dual GTX 275 at 1.7GB each, but this option is not available on this build.

3. as I noted above, can I get an additional 6 GB ram on my own? can this build take 12 Gb at 1600 MHz?

THANKS!

as for Sarah's build, the only thing I would change is the 1.5TB HDD, they don't have a good track record so far, change that to veloci or ssd.

here is some info:

liquid cooling is air tight and should leak but at the same time, nobody can guarantee you 100% that nothing will happen during shipping, if you have a crate, odds are you should be ok but thats not 100%.

1 x 275 896MB is only 3 to 5 fps slower then 1 x 285 2GB, and at your resotlution you won't even notice the difference.

as for crysis, if you want to play at highest settings, you might want to go with 2 x 275 896MB or 1 x 5870, but most other games like cod, farcry2, left for dead and etc, just need 1 x 275 or 1 x 5850 to play at highest settings.

yes you can add 6GB of ram yourself but its best to let DS do it, as you might need to redo your oc.
