is it worth getting a 1000w psu for a single gpu and never going sli? Should i get 750w?

You don't need a 1000W then. A 750W will suffice.

in the future they will probably use the same or less power. because they are optimizing them.

yep. just look at the 5xx over the 4xx. they improved power usage slightly as well as increasing performance. Also amd is way better with power saving than nvidia with their recent cards only needing 650w psus.

I believe nvidia has stronger cards then amd so im staying with nvidia even though you cant really prove it.

they are hard to compare differant archetecutres ect. and honestly if i had the extra money to pay $100 markup on a gpu i would because amd drivers suck. I've had my pc for a month and had 2 issues with it. one that took 2 days to figure out....

Exactly even though amd is better in some ways but nvidia has good support and strong cards

for sli 570 and a good oc, you need a corsair 1000w psu, a 750w will be pushing it, if your card is a lower card then a 750w can do sli.

For a single gpu, and future upgrades a 750w corsair is what you want.
