A little knowledge is a dangerous thing?

Running speedfan on an evga 780i ftw motherboard it reports the 12v as 9.93.
Checking the bios, it states 12v is 12v.

Does anyone know, tried googling no luck, where speedfan is monitoring the voltage. Is it possible for the system to run without problems if the voltage is really that low? Everything seems to run OK, diagnostice etc.

BUMP

Looking around I found in other forums that the 12v reported by speedfan is, to say it nicely, inaccurate in many cases. Some reported it as show 1.35 and others at 9,7
Why, I don't know yet (may never find out) but as long as its Speedfan I am very happy.Embarrassed
