So I ordered a tower from IBP, big mistake! They returned my case I sent out for repair with the same problem it had to begin with. So here I am. I was hoping not to spend quite this much but this is about the max of what im willing to spend. My question is would any of you rearrange any of this stuff for optimization (i.e cheaper tower in exchange for larger power supply, etc) Also the video card I selected, it does have an HD output, right?

alright, lots of things your build comes to $1475, and i have some really great news for you, for very close to that price we can put together something for you that will blow this system away, your ticket is 410846
you didnt mention what your budget is, but ill try and stick close to what you already posted, this one is $1662
we drop the liquid cooling for much better options in your price range, step up to intel, several sidegrades. this is meant as a lauchpad depending on your budget, the absolute first change i would make if you can, is spring for the 480, thats the best thing that could upgrade this system, ill see what you have to say before we go from there

Well I want the PC primarily for gaming and thats really the only resource intensive thing I'll be doing. Playing music once in a while and a little bit of school work is about all. My monitor is a widescreen sceptre 24" 1920/1080P. As for price the build I came up with was already a bit more than I was looking to spend but if there are a couple small upgrades that would make all the difference I'm all ears. Thanks for the feedback so far

if it comes down to dollars you could opt out of overclocking and drop the cpu cooler, other than that to take advantage of your monitor, i wouldnt go much lower

at that budget his res won't matter since we will be limited to what gpu we can pick, anything over 470/5850 will put him over, but still would be nice to know your res.
I don't know why you would go for that case, let along when you are on a budget. your own config will not work, you need bigger psu. Don't even bother with the P55 systems, you can get a x58 system for basically the same price.

If I selected the same one you had for the P55 system it actually comes out to $1529, cheaper than the P55 system with otherwise identical part selection. Go figure. |

you got 3GB of ram, with win7 64bit and multi tasking he might need more, the only reason I didn't go the 3GB route is because if he adds 3 more GB himself then he has to re do the oc and I'm not sure if DS will do that for extra 3GB of ram that is not from them, but I still do like your system better then the i5.
