So, I am thinking of buying the pre-built gaming dominator, but I was wondering if these upgrades were worth it: 1600 RAM to replace 1333 RAM and 1000 W PS to replace 750 W if I am just adding sound blaster. So, are they?

DS won't do those upgrades you will have to do it yourself.

1600MHz ram will give you no performance gain what so ever, waste of money.

1000w PSU is only good if you are ever going to go Tri or quad sli, however by the time you make that change your pre-build price is out the window so why not just config a system with a 1000w if you need it.

Yeah, I will do my own upgrades. Hence, pre-built Ouch. Thanks for the advice. I will hold off on the 1000w PSU.

About the sound card. I have a budget-minded z5500 speaker system. Integrated audio is more than enough for that?

I'm not great with audio and I don't want to just pass on my opinion which is based on little experience.

I will let somebody with better knowledge answer that, also we don't know the brand and model and specs of the prebuild systems so I don't even know what kind of an audio it has.

ok the x58 has 8.1 audio which is pretty good, well look at it this way you can always add a sound card.

what size monitor are you going to be gaming with this? this is going to be a gaming rig I assume?

Just to round out the spectrum of opinion, I don't believe any of the options you mentioned are really worth it. Well, the PSU could be, but only if you plan to upgrade to SLI at some point in the future.
3.6 GHz E6850,       4 GB RAM, GTS 250,   TJ9, Win 7 64-bit
4.4 GHz i7 3930K, 16 GB RAM, GTX 670, 550D, Win 7 64-bit

Correct me if I am wrong . . .

we use to OC the penryn chips with 9 multiplier to over 4.0GHz now a 1333MHz ram with a 21 multiplier is not good enough?

1600MHz is not needed if you are OCing period. the forum is full of systems with 920 and 1333MHz OCed to 4.0GHz,

if you want to OC your CPU keep the 1333MHz and just give it to somebody that knows how to OC properly then you will be fine.

DS themselves have only one requirement for you to OC over 4.0GHz and that is LC, there is no mentioned of any other requirement cause there is none. the LC itself is not really a requirement either but it helps a lot.

just as Bill the Cat said also you don't need any of those upgrades.
