I'm looking for advice/suggestions for my new computer, because I got a constantly-overheating computer from Cyberpower.
Here is the build. I hope to build it myself UNLESS Digital Storm has a sale that would convince me otherwise. My budget is $1500 to $1800, but $1800 is really pushing it.

Build: (case and cd and monitor not included because I have a great case, antec 900, and a good monitor, LG 23' flatscreen)

Bad selections all around. An ATI 5970 is just two overpriced 5850s stuck together in CF, you don't want to get one. Overpriced motherboard which doesn't even offer you anything you can take advantage of, you have no $600+ 6GB/s speed SSDs selected, plus ASUS support absolutely sucks these days. You have a triple channel memory system but only have a dual memory RAM selection, and badly overpriced RAM at that. That liquid CPU cooler is liquid just for the sake of saying it is liquid and making people who don't know any better think it is an amazing cooler, but a tiny 120mm radiator with a single 120mm fan on it isn't cooling anything worth jack. A Noctua NH-U12P SE2 air cooler or the bigger Noctua NH-D14 air coolers will both cool better and are cheaper.

I think perhaps you may be making bad selections in DS's configuration options too, because for $1500-1800 you can configure one from DS that is equal to or better than the parts you have selected.

The components are not specifically from Digital Storm's configurator. I wasn't sure where to go with the motherboard, but I can agree that it costs way too much. I would, however, like suggestions for a different video card(s) that would perform at top of the line for less than $600. Also, do SSD's really boost the computer's speed significantly? My dad said that 4GB would be okay, but originally I wanted 6GB triple channel. Also, I don't know much about water cooling other than it costs a ton, but I've also heard that it is more efficient at cooling. Is this correct? I'm going to try improving my computer build by looking at DS's configurator, hopefully that will help. Thanks for the input

SSD's will dramatically reduce boot and load times of any programs installed to them.  They won't help increase your frames per second in games though.

What graphics card setup you need is going to depend on what resolution you are going to run at and what you are going to be doing.  1920x1080 and below you should be fine w/ a single Nvidia 480 GTX.  Any resolution higher than that and you should consider a multi-GPU setup.  Just keep in mind that Crossfire and SLI (multi GPU configurations) can be a bit buggy at times (this also applies to mutli GPU single cards like the 5970).

Your power supply needs are going to revolve around your graphics card setup.

A good air cooler like either of the Noctuas should be more than sufficient unless you are going to be doing extreme overclocking (higher than the overclocking that DS includes free with their systems).  I've been told that the self contained liquid coolers here aren't very effective.
