Most of the speakers I've had were Logitech. I got some nice Genius gaming speakers 9 or 10 years ago but it seems they don't make them anymore. Can anyone recommend 2.1 speakers you've owned and liked?
Thanks |

These are expensive, but wow they sound amazing!
Audio Engine A5+ Speakers And if you want some extra bass, this subwoofer pairs extremely well with the above speakers: Audio Engine S8 Subwoofer I tested those speakers side-by-side with other speakers by Bose, Klipsch, and other brands. The Audio Engine A5+'s won by a huge margin. The bass, clarity, and imaging of those speakers is impressive. I remember testing them with a song by Norah Jones. The other brands sounded great, but when I closed my eyes and listened to the Audio Engines, I could have sworn Norah was standing 3 feet in front of me. |

Oof. I don't have a strict budget in mind but that's a probably a bit more than I'd like to spend. I'm not an audiophile by any means, I just want something that sounds OK (primarily for games) and will likely last awhile. But thanks for the suggestion. |

That's ok. I had a feeling those speakers might be beyond your budget. I'm a developer of video software, and I've also done sound design for games back in the day, so I'm overly particular about audio quality.
Here is a more affordable speaker system that I bet you'll love: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX I had those for years, and they are lovely! They used to cost quite a bit more. Now you can get them for a steal: Only $106. |

I have had good results with the Klipsch 2.1 and old 5.1s. (those old systems are great!) Those Audio Engine speakers look very good.

+1 on the Klipsch. They go on sale at Costco a few times a year for like $70. Honestly, for the $$ I don't think they can be beat.
