So I just noticed something on my Corsair case, the rear exhaust fan is not spinning. And looks like it's jammed into the side a bit. However the internal rear fan attached to the water cooling unit is spinning just fine. Is this normal? Do they disable the rear case fan normally?

All my fans are spinning.

Is the fan plugged in? is there anything preventing the fan from spinning?

Vanquish I or Vanquish II? I know on the II all the fans spin, but you mention water cooling... leads me to think it's a Vanquish I.

Can't see why they unplug a fan even with cooling.

So, I'm no help.

Vanquish I

So here's an update. I stuck a small screwdriver in, and tapped the fan, and it started spinning again. Only problem is it would make an annoying clicking/rattling sound while gaming.

Turned the thing off and unplugged, tried prodding the fan a bit with the screwdriver again. Turned it back on and it was even louder.

So I booted up Crysis 3, which kicks the fan into overdrive, and it was SUPER loud with the clicking/rattling.

So i grabbed another screwdriver and tried loosening the screws on the rear grill, loosening one screw made the clicking stop for a bit, but i booted up Crysis 3 again and the clicking continued.

So i left the game running, and continued to f**k with adjusting the tightness of the rear screws, till finally i got the rattling to stop completely, now it's whisper quiet.

Now, that being said, should I be worried at this point? Do you think the fan itself is on the fritz or just the centering of it in the case was the problem?

I would contact DS and see if they will send you a new fan.

I did and never received a tech callback. How hard is it to reinstall a new closed loop water cooler? Same as any heat sink?

I must admit to not being sure how hard it would be to reinstall the water cooler would be. I would try calling DS again or emailing them.

I believe Alex's email address is [email protected]

Indeed, it has been rattling off and on for the past day or so still, I kept trying to readjust the screws, and I think I finally got it to the point where it's noise free. But man those fans are sensitive.

Here's hoping it doesn't cause anymore issues.
