So I finally ordered my laptop, I am super pumped! I have never had a laptop before!
So here is the specs System Configuration: Chassis Model: Digital Storm x17 Laptop (Model: 9170) Display: 17.3 Inch (16:9) (Resolution: 1920 x 1080) (Glossy Surface) LED-Backlit Display Processor: Intel Core i7 3610QM (2.3 GHz Turbo Mode to 3.3Ghz) (Quad Core) (6MB Cache) Thermal Compound: Premium IC Diamond CPU and GPU Thermal Compound (Reduces Thermal & Laptop Noise) Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Primary Hard Drive: Intel 240GB SSD (520 Series) (SATA 6Gb/s) Secondary Hard Drive: - No Thanks Optical Drive: DVD/CD 8x Multi-Drive (Writes and Reads DVDs, CDs) Wireless Card: Bigfoot Networks Killer Wireless-N 1103 (Reduces Latency for Online Gaming) Video Card(s): NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M 2GB with NVIDIA Optimus Technology Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) Warranty Plan: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty Sub-Total: $1,996.00 so the Questions I have are this 1) Do I need a laptop cooler? I will be playing games on this guy mainly. 2) Can anyone recomend a specific laptop bag. This bag will be the home for my puter whenever I am not using it. It will get a lot of use. I am looking for something affordable, durable, and that has protection. This will be going to work with me all the time, and also it will be travelling with me when I fly. ideally less than 70 dollars. Also the only thing going in the bag is a mouse and a cooler if i need it! Thanks! |

Hi madwiese1.....Congrats on your laptop
Here's a short thread where a couple of members gave suggestions.I'm not into gaming laptops, but if you game on a hard surface and not your lap, I would think they'd be pretty good. A good check is to run HWMonitor during your gaming runs and see what the temps are. If cpu and gpu stay well below what they call tj maxx then you're good. Bags, I have no idea. Others might weigh in..

for bags personally i prefer buying a sleeve (sleeves are much more protective than bags) put the laptop in that then put the sleeve in any bag you like with the mouse and cooler if needed :)
