After recieving my new rig from DS I will have two computers, a Samsung 22" LCD Monitor w/dual inputs (automatically switchable), one key board and one mouse.
How can I control the two pc's with one mouse and one keyboard ... what is the best solution, without interfering with gaming ?

I have seen this, but it stresses TWO monitors ... I wonder if it will work when I only have one ?

I saw a video about synergy on cnet, it looks very cool but my only issue would be running my mouse off my screen while I'm gaming and having no clue where it went. I wish there was a way to pop back and fourth using keystrokes like a kvm switch without the price tag.

So you can use a KVM switch w/o using the video port ?
See I would not need to (and would prefer not to) since I have dual inputs on my single monitor ... |

You connect each pc to kvm then connect monitor to kvm.

Well, what I'm going to TRY is this: I'm going to use my Cyber Snyper keypad, on the gaming (new DS) tower, flop over my Razor mouse from my present tower, and get a wireless mouse for my other tower, keeping my present keyboard right where it is (& hooked to my "old" tower) this way, the cyber sniper is the size of your hand and will not clutter the desk, and the mouse is small so I'm not worried about it. Make any sense ? I dunno .. I'll try it ... thought of also buying two wireless gaming devices (keyboard/mouse) install the drivers on both towers, set up the xmitters in the backround, but only actually use one each of the devices.... know what I mean ?? |

buying two gaming mice/keyboards and only using one seems like a waste but is still cheaper than a good kvm

You could just set up your second tower for remote connection from your 1st tower...and basically switch back and forth using your original keyboard and mouse.
That's what I would do at least. |

The new tower from DS will have two LAN connections ... could I connect one to the router and the other loop over to the first tower ? |
