Hello,
I have been through the configurator 50 times over the past week; swapping in and out different items, trying to figure out the maximum bang-for-the-buck vs. style and want. I need someone's help to sort me out and make up my mind! Bottomline is that I need the maximum gaming performance for Modern Warfare 2. My budget gets strict at $2000. I already have a 1680x1050 [Dell 22" WS] Monitor, and plan to stick with that for gaming [will also hook up to 42" LCD TV]. Have SB Audigy 2ZS card and 74GB Raptor that will also be going into it upon arrival. No option for a small boot-SSD, but would likely request one from NewEgg. HAF932 ASUS P6T i7-920 6GB DDR3 5850 1GB 750W PS Any thoughts on accessories, upgrades, services? Should I go with Liquid Cooling? Staff Question: If I go with Liquid Cooling, will the potential 3.3-3.9 OC be higher [turn a 3.7 into a 3.9?]? Thanks! Edited by 2Cigars - 24 Mar 2010 at 5:48am |

Wow you're fast DST4ME!
I added an edit question about liquid cooling... Probably after you viewed the original posting... Any ideas? TBH; I have some wiggle room in the price, but I wanted to set a limit otherwise I will spend $5k, and for my needs, I know I won't be able to tell the difference. |

you don't need LC, its a luxury.
there is no guarantee that your oc will be higher with LC on stage 1 oc. |

Okay, that solves the LC issue. I just have always wanted one, but like you said, it's a luxury I could spend on other things.
As far as the cooling goes, would tossing an extra ~$100 on the extra fan option offered be money well spent instead of going to LC? I have been reading through all of justin.kerr's posts on OCing, and I notice most people decide they want to go higher with their OC, but hit a temperature wall. Honestly, I would be happy with a ~4.0Ghz max. It will probably be the first thing I attempt to do once it arrives. Thoughts? |

fan upgrade will just be loud, 95% of your cpu cooling comes from your cpu cooler, and the same for gpus.
if you are looking to push your oc to 4.0 then LC is a better idea, tho air will do it too but temps will be a bit higher, tho with some of the rads used here you might find the same temps as air. |

I was actually interested in a similar build, and your configuration suggestions have been great. However, I'm wondering about the Asetek 120mm radiator liquid cooling. This is actually $37 cheaper than the Noctua fans. What are the disadvantages/advantages of that pick?
Thanks |

its not proven, the air coolers out perform it, its not real LC, in short forget about it.
