I wanted a gaming pc, and of course Dell and Hp offer nothing good for gaming at this price, and a round of searching and comparisons led me here. The $2000 is purely for the desktop. I already have a 24in monitor. 1920 X 1200 appears to be the highest resolution. It Could be a bit over 2000$ i suppose, but not by a lot. I'm going to use this both for gaming and for schoolwork as well.

Needs: 8+ Gigs RAM, TV tuner, Good enough graphics card(s), to look awesome (impress friends), last 2-3 years without needing upgrades.

Honestly, I probably don't need the 8 gigs of ram, if i can get less for the same performance, i'd be good with that.

ram usage starts to top out around 3
so 6 gb of triple channel is really more than you need, but it doenst cost much more

Looks like a nice build, several questions. i can go a little over 2k, would it be worthwhile to get the 930? Also, should i overclock the video card? the add on card there is a tv tuner right?. how does the liquid 120mm compare with the dual fans?

no, be careful watching the numbers like that, the 930 is the same chip, but you pay intel a bunch to overclock it, when you can do it for free on your own or better have DSO do it and include it in your warranty!

Also, should i overclock the video card?

you wont need to overclock a 480, but no, either way.
its very easy to jack up your video card if it slows you down, but that wont happen for at least a year

the add on card there is a tv tuner right?

yes, and honestly i do not know much about those, so you might want to do your own looking on them or ask DSO before you buy one

how does the liquid 120mm compare with the dual fans?

its cheaper but not as cold. takes up less room...
the noctuas are hard to beat unless you get real liquid cooling, the asetek is just a fancy air cooler.

Thanks man, , one more thing, the LED performance fans, do those actually improve cooling, or do they just light up and look cool?

you wont need them, the stock cooling in a HAF case is already strong and quiet. spend the money on extra cathode tubes if you want more light
