True/False will the world end at the end of 2012?
Personally, i dont think it will but just in case im going to splurge on some nice upgrades for my DS rig If it doesnt end, maybe stocks will sell super cheap and i can make some $ from those paranoid people.. |

its more of an opinoin than anything else. i have no clue if this is right but i heard it somewhere. so a long time ago a society made a calender and it just happened that they said something about 2012 and they have been right about everything before so its kinda scary. i think it was the mayans...
yea it was the mayans so aparently 2012 is the end of their callander so we have no clue what that could mean but i guess we will have to find out. i hope the world doesn't end in 2012 tho because then i have wasted my whole life in school! http://www.13moon.com/prophecy%20page.htm |

I actually watched something on this topic, it was on discovery channel I believe. I guess the poles are suppost to switch, so north would become south and south would become north. And because of this switch anything digital would stop working. It also said this was all theoretical, kinda like the big bang theory and all that mumbo jumbo scientist have come up with over the years....basically its just a wait and see type of thing, im not going to do anything different myself....keep in mind in the video they never once said "the world would end" just technology, forcing society to crumble..so simply put if this 2012 thing is true, it would be up to us as citizens to deal with the lack of technology and not f**k each other up...at least this is what I make of all of this. I could be completely wrong, so who knows.

Yah that would be unfortunate :/
I don't want to go back to playing board games, I like my DS rig and all the sick games im playing for it.. I wonder whats going to happen to the money system if everyone tries to withdraw their money from the bank when the bank doesnt have it. And what'll happen to the stock market.. Think crime will go up close to the date? |

everyone said that the world was going to end for a ton of different reasons, the main idea was that everything with an electronic circut would stop working becuase the date would be 01/01/01
there were hats, tshirts, books, endless news programs, etc etc etc
it all comes down to money
thats why media wants you to feel ugly
that the leaders of your opposing political party are so evil
that you can get out of debt by paying someone to pay your bills for you
and in this case that the world is going to end

It is the exact same thing as saying Dec 31 will be the end, because it is the last day. Or just buy a new f**king calender.. |

this is exactly how the 2012 rumors started, the mayans ended their written timeline at 2012, keeping in mind they were playing football with dead peoples heads and had basically phased out of existance around the year 0
people make the assumption that becuase they didnt record after that date, that there will not be an earth after that date
explain how this makes sense, and ill agree that in 2012, life will end.

actually you are completely wrong. they ended it for a reason. On the winter solstice in 2012, the sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in about 26,000 years. This means that "whatever energy typically streams to Earth from the center of the Milky Way will indeed be disrupted on 12/21/12 at 11:11 p.m. Universal Time. And it just so happens thats when they ended their calender... its no coincidence. something big is going to happen that probably has to do with energy on that day at that time.

well the theory is probably false... anyway there are so many doomsday predictions out there that were wrong. plus it really depends on what we do and can't neccisarrily be predicted because there are too many variables that could change.
the solar flare theory is interesting. seems much more realistic than anything else |

lol...people can't predict the weather with much accuracy. So why do people think they can predict the end of the world with accuracy?

eh, if i thought it had a chance of staying in my files, id bookmark this so in 2013 i could laugh at anyone believing this crap
but i never save anything for that long, so i'm content to laugh now, just please follow the basic rule of information
believe 60% or less of what you read
30% or less of what you hear
and please for gosh sake dont futher the fear mongering, or buy anything
just by linking that stuff you make money for these people, and they laugh at you
i didnt say they ended it for no reason
but read about how to anger some roman gods, then run outside and try it, see if you survive Edited by !ender_ - 24 Oct 2010 at 3:32pm |

I am more afraid of the people who honestly believe the world is gonna end. When that day comes, I'm staying inside.
