Hey I'm looking to get a Lumos PC from Digital Storm but I don't know much about them. I've made a config and was wondering if there was anything I would need to change
*I'm wanting to be able to stream VR to YouTube or Twitch + play some other games like Minecraft or Fortnite Config: 4425652 I don't know anything about PC parts so sorry if I don't understand some replies |

Do you have a monitor in mind? Its a good idea to let The Smart Guys® know what you'll be looking at so hey can point you in the right direction. You don't want to pair a weak GPU with a high powered screen or vice versa.
Might be a little while before they come around to see your post, so give them a little time and they'll be sure to get you sorted. Welcome to DS. |

Welcome to DS! That's not a bad set-up for 1080p screen resolution maxed out, or 1440p up to about 100fps.
You'll do every bit as well with a 12600K CPU for what you want. Have a look at this comparison: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-12700K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-12600K/4119vs4120 The reason they're so close is that the 2 extra cores/4 extra threads don't do anything for gaming. Put that savings into an 850W power supply, and your rig will be upgradeable way beyond a 3060 Ti equivalent when you want to. DS systems, especially with these latest procs, tend to last a very long while, and you don't want to gimp yourself right off the bat with a strict limit on your power. Those two changes will save you $77, and you'll have a better buy IMHO. You might consider putting that together with what you're about to spend on the "exotic cable management" and splurge a little for the Coolermaster fans instead. They look very good in a Lumos with all that glass. ![]() |
