I was looking to buy the 24" Samsung offered by DS, what is the model number for example, how is it rated and how does it compare to the 22" offered by DS.

I was thinking about getting the 24" Samsung for my new gaming system, but the cost 2x more than the 22" has me wondering.

Any advice?

Thanks.

22" is the sweet spot for value. Going up in size from that point increases the price dramatically.  You should consider the impact the size you select is going to have on your system overall, IMO, and decide which size monitor will provide you with a better overall experience. Selecting a smaller size monitor not only frees room in your budget for better components such as graphics cards and CPU, but also means that less expensive solutions will provide better performance results at the lower resolutions of a smaller screen. Larger screens mean you will need to increase the capabilities (and expense) of other system components to properly support them.

Alot will depend on the rest of your system.

24" takes more horsepower because it runs at a higher resolution.

22" still looks great and will run faster on mid-range videocards. Some people prefer a smaller screen for gaming, especially for First Person Shooters since you can more quickly take in the entire screen.

Sorry I can't comment on the specific monitors offered by DS (. No experience with them.
