Looks like its a new option, unless I totally spaced out and haven't seen it before..Anyone know if that would make that big of a diff?..I mean I can understand larger fan more airflow, but really now....

EDIT: Is the $63 worth it too?

It's under their cpu cooling options now.  They have asetek LCLC with 120 mm radiator and asetek LCLC with 240 mm radiator.  It is definitely a new addition to the listing.

I haven't heard anything about the Asetek LCLC with the 240 mm radiator.  Information about their lifespan is sparse as well.  They're rated for 50000 hours.  Whether you will get 50k hours or not is debatable.  Opinions vary.

Davis,

You will be hard pressed to find anybody on this forum that will suggest you getting the Asetek LCLC 240 mm radiator edition for an extra 50-60 dollars over the Noctua air cooling solution.  While Asetek states that the unit life is 50k hours there are no real numbers to back that up that I can find nor that anybody else has found to my knowledge.

Personally, I think the 120 mm radiator Asetek is not a bad option since it cools a bit better than Noctua, as per Alex, and is a bit cheaper.  Until we get some defiinitive proof from DS that the 240 mm radiator Asetek is a significant upgrade over their air options or the 120 mm version there's no reason to recommend it.

We know for a fact that frostbite is the best cooling option.  Most people are going to recommend frostbite if you want to go liquid cooling as you have the experts at DS designing the system for you.  That's why you're here.  Ermm

And yet the DSO altar at which you pray continues to sell it.  Imagine the heresy.

Here's the point.  Just because YOU wouldn't recommend the part doesn't make it bad.  You are not the end all be all of computer parts regardless of what you may believe.  There is a reason DSO offers it in their lineup.  We have had several threads where Alex said it offers slightly better cooling than the Noctua and yet you continue to thumb your nose at it.  It's also cheaper than the Noctua.  This is one of those times where you push on in the face of stupidity.  I'm done discussing this with you.

Just because DS offers parts it does not mean its a great part.

DS does not decide quality of parts. they offer many parts so there are choices, ask venom the DS tech if he would ever use a asetek in his build and see what he says.

look at the 2TB and 1.5TB HDDs that are offered, they have horrible ratings.

to judge a quality of a part by what builder offers it, instead the actual quality of that part is where you push on in the face of stupidity

I _might_ (and that's a big might) use the Corsair H50, but Asetek, never.

They have not been around long enough for us to know how good they are, and their performance is not all better then some air coolers.
