ok so i was lookin at some cards and noticed the FTW edition gtx 275 is overclocked more than the GTX 285 FTW and its cheaper so is it possible or recommended to ask digital Storm to put in FTW editions since you cant select that in the customizing or should i just get the 285's and have DS overclock them if i wanted to get them OCed

for that resolution if you want high settings you will want 2 x 275 GTX vanilla, no need for ftw editions, they seem to have a higher failure rate. and the difference in fps is very little, and not worth the money, 2 x 275 GTX vanilla will give you 60 fps in many games with the settings at hight (4x aa, 16x af, 8x aa, 16x af).
over clock GPUs will produce heat and like 4 fps which with 2 x 275 you will not need anyways. what kind of games do you mostly play? Edited by DST4ME - 11 Jul 2009 at 11:52pm |

So whats the price difference with the normal 275's to the Vanilla 275? just curious.................................i am a little worried about getting an "older" GPU since there are the 285's but i noticed from reading that the difference is almost nothin, the 275's use a little more power which isnt a big deal..... I havent played any online games ever but i will most likely pick up Crysis, ARMA 2, Battlefield 2/2140... in that area of gaming

vanilla means normal the difference between 275 and 285 is 4 fps, and in an sli the difference is not noticeable.
275 are not old GPUs, they came out the same time as 285, we call the 275-s, the 285 killer, cause it cost much less and the difference in performance is not noticeable Edited by DST4ME - 12 Jul 2009 at 11:47am |
