Just a general question for the DS crew. Is there any hope of seeing the 2 gig version of this card in the config list? I really love the idea of this particular model from nvidia because it's so flexible for overclocking and more importantly the price point, but just having 1G scares me off. I see the 2G 6950 and was hoping to see the 560ti version as well.

Yeah, screen resolution is important, unless are trying to push really hard games at 1920x1200 with x16 AA setting or 2560x1600 at various AA settings then I doubt more than 1GB of video memory will ever be needed. And if you're trying to push resolutions that high then you really should just be putting the money toward a more powerful GPU in the first place.

Lilim's SLI 480s destroy any game so far at 2560x1600 with AA set anywhere from x4 to x16, and they only have 1.5GB of memory, so don't think you need an absolute ton video memory.

LOL most of us have names for them Rice.

dragoon has Lilim

justin has Drunken Monkey

I have the Terminator   (DST = Digital Storm Terminator)

As for 560 ti 2GB, I don't get it either, for the same reason as dragoon stated, if you did have those needs and res, then you would want a better card anyways, sli 560 ti 2GB at 2560 x 1600, its not gonna do that great.

We most likely won't as there are already too many options to pick from. You can special order one from us, which you'll need to get in touch with our sales deal directly for a quote.

Thanks for the replies. I get why you wouldn't do it. Just wanted to ask anyway. I'll probably end up sitting at 1920X1080 res. I'll be running video creation and graphics work through this thing along with fraps during gameplay, so I was just tossing out sli ideas to squeeze quality out of every part while staying under budget.
