When I got my DS system I bought a copy of Vista as an extra, and didn't realize at the time that I never specified 64-bit or 32-bit (recieved 32-bit).  I'm pretty unclear on the tangible benefits of going with 64 over 32 bit, and Microsoft does a terrible job of it on their site.  Can anyone explain to me what gains I'd see in gaming/video editing, if any?

Although I did purchase my DS system with 2GB of RAM, I had 2 other XMS2 sticks here, so the system is up to 4GB which I know Vista 64 requires.

Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit both have the same recommended requirement of 1GB.

32-bit systems can only recognize 4GB of memory. 64-bit can recognize up to ~130GB.

64-bit is faster and uses the memory better then 32-bit. However, 64-bit systems require 64-bit drivers for all your devices or else they won't work.

64-bit definitely for professional video editing.

Make sure all your devices have 64-bit drivers before making the switch.
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.

Thanks very much for the info!  I'm far from professional video editting (I use Sony Vegas for WoW PvP videos), so it doesn't seem like 64 bit will be a huge deal for me.
