You are in very good shape. The internal lighting is free if it matters at all. It can be turned to a single color or completely off.
I would strongly advise you partition your NVMe drive so your Windows and maintenance software, browser, etc. is on a small virtual drive you can easily scan and clone to an external drive for backup. The scans will be performed quicker than you will believe. If you ever need to do a fresh re-install of Windows for some reason, you will not have to re-install all your software, just what you choose to be on the smaller partition. |

Thanks for taking the time to look at my configuration, I appreciate it and good tip on the lights, I'll add that.
As far as the suggestion for the partition is there anything online you can point me to on how to set this up, I'm a little rusty on the technical stuff? Thanks again. |

You can do this pretty easily in Windows now. Go to Computer Management > Disk Management > (C:). Right click on the drive, and select Shrink Volume. Win will "query" your drive for available shrink space, and then let you fill in the blanks. There is a tip to go to Disc Management > Help if you need to.
You can google and watch a video first, but it's pretty straightforward. Note you are shrinking in MB, not GB. Make it any size you want, but if you really want to streamline, it might be best just to have the OS, maintenance software like Malwarebytes and other scanners, your browser, which must be scanned regularly, and anything else to think should be there. Remember Win will find a program to load wherever on the computer it's stored, and you can have a shortcut to it. The idea is to have a C drive that boots really fast, is fully scanned really fast, and can be completely written over with a fresh install of the OS if needed with only a few apps needing to be re-installed. |

You are most welcome. I did forget to mention that there are several free downloads of partition software available online. I used one a few years ago that actually allowed me to use sliders to re-size a couple of drives. It's called EaseUS, and I liked it, but it has been a few years since I have used it. If you are more than likely to just use it once for your primary drive, I wouldn't bother, but if you have any snags you could search for a free one that's easier to use.
Also, It prolly goes without saying, but don't accidently rename your primary partition. You must normally boot from the C: drive. |

I've had the computer for a little over a month now and everything is working great. One thing I cannot figure out is how to adjust the rgb lighting on startup. I assume there is software in addition to the remote but I cannot find it. I have to adjust it with the remote every time I start up.
TIA for any guidence. |

I found this from a bit over 2 years go. My lighting strip doesn't work so well from May 2018 anymore, so I haven't messed with it for a very long while. The remote does it all, no software for the free light strip.
The remote came with a not-so-user-friendly color instruction page in English and Chinese, and I just experimented around until I found something okay. Then I used the above sequence to lock it in. I wish I could remember more details, but that's the best I can do. If you didn't get the instruction page, check with [email protected] |
