I am thinking down the road, 2-3 years to make sure my computer is still viable, I think the mobo is a different chipset for 6 core too?
Your thoughts? Thanks. Intel Core i7 3770K 3.50 GHz (Unlocked CPU) (Quad Core) or Intel Core i7 3930K 3.2GHz (Unlocked CPU for Extreme Overclocking) (Six-Core) |

For gaming and general everyday apps, the 4 core 3770k chip is all you need. If you want to get into photoshop video editing, Maya, 3D rendering, etc then the 6 core and the quad channel ram on the X79 mobos is what you would want.
The 3770k 4 core fits with Z77 mobo and the 4 core 3820 or 6 core 3930k chip fit onto the X79 mobos. |
