The only difference is a CPU fan and slightly different PSU model. Not wanting to troll, but...damn.

Ehh ya but it's [removed]. Always a 50/50 build with them. Either you get lucky and everything works fine on your comp or you get screwed if it doesn't.
Let's say something ends up being wrong with it. For warranty coverage etc you gotta send the whole thing back. If you look at reviews no one has ever had their comp repaired by them on the first send back. So you end up sending it back a second time all while your no hassle 30 day money back guarantee is still ticking. During all this shipping time it still counts towards the money back guarantee. So after getting your comp back a second time and it's still not working all you can do is keep sending it back to them over and over again hoping that one day they get it right. However you can never get a refund even if you send it in 6 times for repair. Check the forums and you will find tons of stuff like this in review info. I am sure [removed] has many computers that go out the door without a hitch. However it's the risk of all the bad things that happen if it doesn't go well that has some people willing to pay a bit extra. You get what you pay for. Edited by Alex - 26 Sep 2011 at 11:31pm |

I hear you. A good build and zero problems is of utmost importance to me. But $450 for that is huge.

Just a side note but did you see the ode level 2 build.
Not exactly the same as yours but pretty close. Also comes in at 1,999 dollars so cheaper than the other two you listed. http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadode.asp?id=597328 Edited by Chi-TownTx - 26 Sep 2011 at 9:47pm |

A different fan, mobo, and PSU can make a decent difference in gaming, plus with DS you get epic costumer support and a company that cares about you getting a great rig, not just getting your money.

If a friend said he would configure your system for $XXX, and another friend -- with maybe a better rep -- said he would do the same thing for $450 more, which would you choose?
I can see paying more for the lack of heartache, but $450? I e-mailed Digital Storm with my config and with this specific one-on-one comparison and a request that they cut a break on the price. We'll see what they say. |

Not the same at all, your cpu cooler on [removed] sucks, what is the brand of the gpu? what is the oc at with cbp? as the others mentioned the customer support is great with DS.

With all due respect you also don't know what you are doing, actually this will cost $200 more then your cbp config and $200 less then your ds config, and will be twice as powerful as the config from cbp.

if you tell us what res you gonna be gaming at, we can help you get what you need, I bet you nobody did that for you at cbp.
where did you get the idea that cpb is reputable? I would not buy one of their pcs with your money, lol, let along my own, the only thing they have a rep for is building bs systems with use parts. Edited by DST4ME - 26 Sep 2011 at 11:28pm |

I take you point on the CPU cooler...I'm not an expert.
Was also troubled by lack of mention on brand of CPU. Now tell me about $2450 vs. $2900. For that diff. I want included that Jennifer "Luv" Hewitt put her boobs in my face for three minutes. Or something. |

@Trench,
Thank you for your interest in Digital Storm. I do see that you really would love a system from us, and I see that the price difference compared to a different company appears to be much less. I do wish to express that, our main focus is taking our time to build each and every system with care, test them as extensively as possible, package them as carefully as possible, and provide the best customer service and support. All of these extra factors are what adds into the cost of our systems. The extra cost in labor for personalizing each build with a single technician versus an assembly line, the time, labor, and electricity to test the systems for extensive periods, and all of the other overhead to ensure we do the best we can does come at a price. We did launch our pre-built ODE line of gaming pcs which are designed to offer very competitive pricing. If you would love to be a Digital Storm customer, and take advantage of all of the great benefits of buying a Digital Storm PC, I would definitely recommend having a look at our ODE gaming line. They are part of our "Special|Ops" brand under gaming desktops. I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me directly: [email protected] |

We were posting at the same time...
I've seen your recommendations several times here, and I've taken them to heart. 1) I don't want to mess with driver issues on SLI. I want to minimize opportunity for problems. 2) I think my choice of HD is valid -- one HD, less opp. for error. I ain't a builder like you guys. I'm an newspaper editor who works from home and likes gaming. 3) "Power Supply: 1050W Corsair Pro Silver 1050HX" -- many advise as overkill. Anyway, the issue here is the $450 premium for peace of mind. Guess I need to sleep on it. |

your choice of ssd is not good cause that is not a great ssd nor is it the fastest, the 320 is more reliable and at 4k speeds which is most of our use, the 320 is faster and 320 is the only ssd that has a 5 year warranty. also I don't agree that one hdd = less problems, sure 2 things means now chances of 2 things going wrong, but you also stand to lose all your data if the drive goes bad since everything is one drive. as for driver issues with sli, there are some but not a lot however is this pc for gaming? if its for gaming and you want to run the games at the best settings, you need sli 570 to that at your res. I also don't agree with 1050hx being overkill, cause you need sli for gaming at best setting and for that you need the 1050hx, but if you want a single system then the 850w is also overkill. just judging by what you are saying its obvious to me you have been getting some bad info. I can tell you right now, you are wasting money on ft02, 580, 850w psu and the mobo, if all you want is a single gpu system. that $450 you keep bringing up, DS has a better cpu cooler thus it costs more, so that is part of the $450, so lets say $400, for that $400 you get lot more faster pc, what is the oc that cbp does on that system? cause I can assure you that DS's system will be much much much faster then the cbp, so take another $100 off for it being a faster pc, now we are down to $300, I'm not sure why you think proper customer svc is not worth more money, but if you go with cpb, then next time you buy a pc you will pay extra attention to customer svc, cbp will teach a good lesson about how important customer svc is, once you deal with their crappy customer svc, you will realize how important it is. but look, here is a DS config that is better then the cpb you posted for less, so what $300? : Here you go Ticket# 600473 --- $2,408 (To see this build click here) Copy of Specifications: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master 942 HAF X Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz (Unlocked CPU for Extreme Overclocking) (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 Deluxe (Intel P67 Chipset) (New & Improved B3 Revision Without SATA 3G Issue) System Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 1050W Corsair Pro Silver 1050HX (Dual/Triple/Quad SLI Compatible) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (120GB Solid State (By: Intel) (Model: 320 Series) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 1.5GB (Includes PhysX) (Overclocked EVGA Edition) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 2: Corsair A70 Dual 120mm Fans High Performance Cooler H20 Tube Color:- Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: - No Thanks Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Stage 2: Overclock CPU 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz (Requires Pro or Deluxe Series Motherboard) Boost Video Card: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory Boost OS: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows 7 CD) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Install/Test Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 5-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty now I would never recommend this build to you cause its all over the place and waste of your money, just like your 2 configs. once you let me know what the use of the pc is and if its for gaming you want the best settings or not (this means sli) then I can give a config that will give you the most performance for your money. I can assure you that other then my sli config, non of the other configs are worth your money in performance. Edited by DST4ME - 27 Sep 2011 at 12:27am |

Ok so for gaming, now do you want the best settings at your res which means sli, or you want to stick with one gpu setup?
