I haven't posted here in a while but I know there are unbiased and truthful techies on here so i thought I'd post my question here. Recently, I've heard rumor that a certain type of 465 can have it's BIOS flashed with that of a 470 and it'll accept it and run like a 470. Basically making it a far cheaper 470 with a bit more tesselation power. Has anyone heard if this is true or not?

yes, there have been a few 465's that can be turned into basically a 470, most models can't. it has to start as a 470 PCB, and be neutered by the manf.

Thanks justin! Not that I'm going to run out hunting for this but it's handy to know this type of stuff goes on.
