I currently have four sticks of Corsair memory one gig in each bank. I'm getting two sticks of 2gig.I want to add a total of six gigs of memory. Does it matter which bank(SLOT)I put them in?

You will want the two 2gb sticks in either the blue(maybe green) or black slots, and the 1gb sticks in either the blue(maybe green) or black slots.  Basically don't have a 1gb stick in a black slot with a 2gb stick in a black slot as well, as I think this will cause the memory controller to drop to single channel instead of dual.

Good luck with that.  I have 2x2 gig sticks in the blue slots and everything works great.  But, If I try and put my 2x1 gig sticks in the black slots with the 2x2s, I get BSODs on boot.  Even when I just put a 1 gig stick in there to make 5 gigs I get BSODs on reboot.  I used these 2x1s before I went to the 2x2s and they worked fine, so I don' think I have two bad sticks, or one bad stick, with the 2x1s.  The 680i is known to have issues with filling all 4 slots with RAM.  However, I can't really say what my issue is.  I just stay with the 2x2s and 4 gigs and a 64 bit platform is very fast.

What are your specs?  I may have a bad board.

Ed you may need more voltage on the ... I can't remember if the SPP is the Northbridge or the MCH is.  Try increasing the SPP voltage and see if that gets rid of the bluescreens.

I'm not that tech savvy. But in the Bios my voltage for memory was 2.100v if that helps. I really don't know what specs you need.

CPU FSB-Auto-1.2v
Memory-2.100v-2.100v

Here are my specs as they were set from DS...

SPP (Auto) > 1.40v
MCP (Auto) > 1.50v
HT SPP <-> MCP (Auto) > 1.20
Memory > 1.85v
FSB Clock > Unlinked
FSB MHz > 1066
MEM (DDR) MHz > 1066

I ran the voltage up two clicks on SPP. MCP and HT SPP <-> MCP separately and it continued to BSOD and loop in the boot.  It would be nice to be able to use these other two 1 GIG sticks to make 6 GIGs in this rig.  I'm not too tech savvy either in trouble shooting in this area though and would probably need to call DS and have them walk me through this voltage class.  Who knows, it may not even be the voltage.
