What are the benefits of one board over the other?

The 680i (A1 revision) vs the Asus Maximus Formula board (x38 chip)?

The Maximus Formula is a better board if you are not going to do SLI.

- has better heatsink with support for watercooling
- PCI-E 2.0 with CrossfireX support
- supports QX9650 and upcoming 45nm Wolfdales and Yorkfields
- more ports (12 usb ports, 2 ethernet, ...)

The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.
