Hello,

I recently purchased a pc with the following build and am very worried about its power consumption:

Case: Corsair 450d case
Processor: Intel Core i7 4770K 3.50 GHz (Unlocked CPU) (Quad Core). Overclocked to 4.5gHz
Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VI EXTREME
System Memory: 16GB DDR3 1866MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum DHX
Power Supply: 750W EVGA SuperNOVA Gold Rated (Dual SLI Compatible)
Optical Drive: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x)
Storage Set 1: 1x SSD (250GB Samsung 840 EVO)
Storage Set 2: 1x Storage (1TB Seagate)
Graphics Cards: 2x SLI Dual (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 3GB (EVGA Superclocked ACX Cooler Edition)
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster Z
Cooling: Corsair H100i 240mm Radiator Liquid CPU Cooler (Extreme-Performance Edition)

Will the 750w psu be enough for this build or will I have alot of issues when I receive the computer? If it will cause issues, is there anything I can do about it either before it ships or after I receive it?

Thanks for the help!:)

I would suggest something in the ~1000 for dual SLI of 780 or higher Graphics cards.

750W is pretty much pushing it. a 850M should be good enough but 1000w gives you more headroom.

DS would normally get back to you if they saw a problem.   800-850w is considered minmum by testers.    I would personally  get a 850w or better psu but the 750 might make it.   I like more than you need, because  80% or less of the power supplies rated power, in this case, 600watt of actual load, is considered ideal.    Over that, the psu does work a little harder.  On the positive side, that psu is an excellent unit and that can make the difference.

I would email or call DS and ask what load they tested and if its OK in their book.

If you push a psu, over time it can cause shutdowns, BSOD, etc and be hard to pinpoint.

Guys, at your recommendation to get a larger psu, I called up and had it changed to the 1050W Corsair Pro Silver 1050HX Psu. Thanks for the help and whatnot!
