Just recieved my Virtue the other day and something just isn't right.
Im seeing low teen FPS numbers, I actually game smoother on my 4 yr old Alienware laptop. Changing graphic settings to low or ultra has no bearing on my FPS. The mighty minds of this forum are sure to tell me what is wrong (and I have no pride as I'm sure its something simple) |

Something is definitely wrong.
What games, monitor are you using? I think you said earlier a 2560x1440 monitor. Is the monitor cable hooked to the gtx 780ti and not your motherboard's integrated dvi/hdmi port next to the rear fan? The video cards are below the rear fan and the ports run horizontal and might have a black plastic cap over the one you want. Getting the monitor to work probably means you are hooked to the 780ti, but you never can say for sure. Make sure the cards are plugged in correctly, power plugs to them and the sli bridge connected. I'm no expert like the rest of the folks here, but I think that bprat has hit it on the head. It sounds like you're running the graphics off the mobo. /shrug/
It happens more times than you would think. If that's not the case and you've plugged your DVI / HDMI / Display port into the right ports, then the only other thing I could think of is a bad card. But again.. what do I know.. Keep us posted! |

Is it one particular game or any game? The 780ti should smoke, in a good way, anything you play on that monitor.
Use Task Manager, performance tab, or CPU-Z, memory tab, to check that you have all your memory showing. What's your specs? While in task Manager, make sure nothing else is running in the background, like Flash, streaming video, or OCCT, Furmark, Heaven gpu stressing software that can lug down your card. Reseat the card and your ram sticks if none of this helps. They are probably seated good since you have no faullts, but things happen. Try a different monitor cable if possible. |

yea the game is taking up most of my CPU per task manager/MSI afterburner...
I've reseated the card/ RAM (have 16gb) BIOS is reading the ram fine, it for some reason isnt loading the 4.2 OC profile and it wont let me w/o a USB? still not sure why my frames would be so brutal different monitor cable as in a DVI? or try another HDMI? |

Another hdmi, but if you can try a DVI, then even better. It'll check to see if its just one of the 780ti's outputs or not. Rare but possible.
Using CPU-Z, your cpu oc isn't working? Needs to be under load. If not, it should load from Bios, Tools I believe, and then save and exit. I don't think no oc would be that detrimental.. Try another game just to isolate it to the game or the rig. What's the game? |

Thought you might have the cable. I douubt its the hdmi cable , if you want, you can get a dvi and check it.
Arma 3 is a Huge gpu hog. Here's a link talking about it. http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/10/02/arma_iii_video_card_performance_iq_review/1#.U8wD8LFUfHY Try dropping the distance rendering way down and see if it helps. Even the 780Ti with your monitor can struggle with that particular game. Go to Conclusion, Editor's Thought. They mention even the Titan, about the same as the 780ti, can have issues. I would try any other game or try tweaking the Arma 3 settings. Your low teen fps is pretty low though, so I'm not sure what's going on. Edited by bprat22 - 26 Jul 2014 at 10:53am |

Is it just ARMA 3 or do other games get low FPS? Try downloading the Heaven benchmark and running that.

Something is definitely causing interference if there is a lag between typing.
It could be some software running in the background. Is there anything you installed that could be causing this? |

Yep. If Task Manager didn't help, I would power down, unplug, wait a minute or two and fire it back up and try.
If still choppy, go to msconfig, type it in search, and check your Startup programs. You can Google what you don't recognize to help stop what you don't need. |

Arma3 is the only reason I shelled out close to 3k for a computer, I can't even fathom how a almost 3 yr old laptop runs its better

Was hoping it would be a simple fix or minor tweak but calling DS is best at this point. Live on the phone, maybe remote troubleshooting and their expertise is better than forum troubleshooting. If it's a hardware issue, you'd need to talk to them anyways.
Best of luck and let us know. |

a little update for you,
I have a ticket open w/ DS awaiting their call back However, I really think this is a CPU issue, I ran "Performance Test 8.0" and my CPU is performing below well inferior CPUs...like embarassing numbers. |

Have you ran HWMonitor to see what temps are like on all of the parts?

Run Speccy, too... I personally don't trust HWMonitor to get all temps right.
Neither does my 120°c mobo or my 1°c SSD...

so..just to update..
had a bad GPU..DS eventually said the card was bad, great customer service but taking 2 weeks to get to that point was kind of a drag... Side note and possibly overly frustrated viewpoint... felt the ground shipping of a new card after 2 weeks of having my computer (and 3 calls to tech support about it) was kind of a buzzkill to hear it would take 5-7 business days for a new card. I ended up paying the difference to get it expedited Also had my own goodies to add to it..should be knocking out a review this weekend |

Bad card? So glad you have it up and running.
Enjoy some quality time with it and a review would be great. |

I understand the frustration with the shipping. I know DS has some of the best CS in the industry and they will always do their best to fix the problems. The thing to remember is that ultimately the card manufacturer is to blame for the defective card, so DS now has to pay to have it shipped themselves.
RMA's like this are a lose/lose for companies like DS... which is, I believe, one reason the test the bejebus out of these machines before they leave the shop.
Hang in there, nskojo, you'll have it soon.
Looking forward to your review.

Thanks guys, once again showing this is a great community..
I wrote that after receiving the new card, I showed patience (shocker) b/c if I wrote that while dealing w/ it I would have been overly critical... I did receive a PNY 780ti to replace my ASUS DirectCU II..while the prices are about 50$ off, the specs are about the same so I don't mind the swap..although the lack of reviews of the PNY 780ti are a tad disappointing (at least w/ the direct cu ii I knew what I was getting) So far so good |
