How to start... My first crash was sound oriented, then a slew of errors started occurring ranging from(all error info I got from the error reporting thingy) driver issues, hard drive failing, hardware failure. A game I was playing had 42 crashes in 30 days. I attempted to reinstall windows xp pro and did the 2+ hours to reformat and partition stuff and then went to do the install. The screen said that windows couldnt install this .dll file hit f3 to quit or enter to skip so I would hit f3 but then comp goes into restart and continues install then cant install this dll file.
so I kept tryin to f3 but it kept goin in circles till the good ol blue scrn appears sayin system memory dump and did a count up to like 40 somethin. this continued till I just unplug. My research is lookin towards a mother board isssue. What Im learnin now is that some think its evga, others think its nvdia chipset. Im soooo confused as to what road to go. Intel looks good for a MB but no sli. Asus looks good but is super picky about what ram to use. Any suggestions. I have qx9650 and 2 8800gtx oc. ps when windows finally installed I could no longer install my game and it wouldnt install the MB sound drivers until I retried the install. Would/does bad memory create this many probs? |

go here and choose the iso version ("Download - Memtest86 v3.4a ISO image (zip)")and then after you download it, unzip it, and then burn it to a cd and then boot off of that cd
hope that helps Edited by DST4ME - 30 Sep 2008 at 4:26pm |
