if from what i hear that the new 780i eVGA MB supports the new 45n CPU's,, i have a question,, I hear that the new CPU's run at a 1600 FSB,, ok,........
Now, heres the problem i dont understand,,
I read that you can install DDR2 667/ 800 / 1066 / 1200 Mhz on this board,??
whats the use of having a MB that supports a new CPU that runs at 1600 FSB if the MB only recognizes only up to 1200 Mem ?? would there not be a bottleneck of data that would get blocked up,, ?
am I reading this correctly or what?
im trying to before i spend good money here, but i didnt get a response yet to my first thread, and im hoping to hear from someone with knowledge about this one too,
Im looking at a systems that will do alot of rendering graphics and use as a game setup too.. so any info someone can pass along will be appreciated,.

Yes the 780i boards supports the 45nm CPUs but these boards do not have native support for 1600 FSB CPUs.
QX9650 and all Core 2 Duos have a 1333 fsb or lower. The QX97** CPUs have been delayed once again due to stability problems. Intel processors have their FSB quad pumped and DDR2 ram has theirs duo pumped. 1600 / 4 = 400 800 / 2 = 400 As long as you have pc6400(800mhz) ram, there won't be a bottleneck. |

I saw it and had to take a shower after seeing it. I felt so dirty, kinda like Kelly's thumbs.
