I have only read up on the single slot MSI 8800gt 512.  It seems to be light on the cooling side with the smaller fan.   This card seems to be the steriod version of the 320 at a pretty reasonable price.  The benchmarks from here   http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/1210/msi_geforce_nx8800gt_512mb_graphics_card/index.html

I wonder about the cooling issue with the smaller fan.

skyR, you think think there will be any cooling issues with this card with stage 3 cooling?  Just wonder due to the size of the card vs fan size.

the staged air cooling is for processors.

The card has a smaller stock cooler compared to the other 8800s is because the card has a 65nm fabrication process (15nm smaller than current 8800s). I don't think there will be any problems with it overheating.

If you are worried about cooling, you could request additional fans in the case.

I was just reading up on the specs of that 8800GT card. What a bargain for the price! I thought it would be be a small bump in performance compared to the 8600GT/S but it only trails the GTX by a small margin. Great deal for a midrange card-if you can even call it that!

How soon do you think DigitalStorm will offer the 8800GT in their systems.  I noticed there is no option to order a custom configuration without a video card, but does anyone know if it is possible to order a configuration without a video card?

I was previously thinking of ordering a configuration with the 8800GTS 320mb card, but now I am thinking I'd be better off with the 8800GT 512mb in my system; especially because of the price.

That's my new video card... I can't wait! Finally I'll be able to keep up, although only slightly, with some of our customers!

We will be featuring the 8800GT soon. We just got it in stock today and once we figure out the pricing we'll add it to the website. If you want one on your order, just call and let us know so that we can arrange it. As for building a system with no video card... Yeah, we can do that. Just put in the order comments that you don't want the video card and we'll remove the price from your configuration. The website just doesn't support it at this time.

600W would be able to do SLI but 700W recommended.

As of right now the standard 8800GT. Our overclocking options will push it to speeds equal to eVGA's overclocked editions.

Could buyers request one of the other versions instead of the OC being done by DSO or would the OC you guys do be more powerful than what evga offers?

Overclocked versions are better because they are of better quality.

Overclocked versions are handpicked by manufacturers, they are guranteed to run at those speeds.

Normal versions... well some are good and some are bad overclockers, depends on your luck.

Can you clarify if you're talking about getting one of the 3 OC'd versions from EVGA or having DSO do it?
