Hi all,
I like the 950si case but read in a computer shopper review that it was loud. Does anyone have this case that can comment? The article is almost a year old. http://computershopper.com/desktops/reviews/digital-storm-950si Thanx, Maxage |

the case is never louder then the gpu's fans, 90% of your noise will come from the gpu's fans when gpu is under load.
don't believe all these reviews you read on the net, almost all of them has some stupid thing in them that is wrong. also that review is from last year and it has different parts. in short the case is never the main source of noise or even lot of noise, be it 950si or haf, at best they have very little noise. |

DS needs to supply some sort of fan controller option. The RV01 I have myself is unbelievably quiet, if I use a manual controller to silence the annoyingly loud 80mm memory fans. The Corsair Dominator airflow fans are ridiculously loud. Zalman's aren't too quiet themselves, either, depite being labeled "quiet" fan. I swapped them out for quiet, 9-bladed fans from Silverstone themselves.

They're touch controllers (room for error XP) and they have temp controls.... I don't like having leads all over my system xD Anyways, it won't work with the Raven case, which I have, specifically because the front 5.25 stealth door is designed to be closed, not open.
I meant like the thumb turny controllers ![]() |

I've had an air cooled Silverstone TJ09 (aka DS 950si) for a few years. It seems to me that the only feature of the case that might make it loud is that half the top is open grillwork. So most of the noise in the case is going to get out. The real answer to your question is, it's as loud as the components in the case.
I do love my TJ09, btw.
