I keep seeing ads in Maximum PC and other places on the internet for Digital Storm Systems starting at $989. I can't find that low of a price here. Am I overlooking it somewhere. Anyone know?
Thanks,
Jim

It prolly would have been for an AMD 64 x2 cpu based pc. Mine cost $850 w/o HDD, but that was a while back.

Does anyone from the company read these boards?
I understand old computers costing less. However, these are current ads around the INTERNET and in my last two issues (April and May 2009) of Maximum PC. I not looking to buy an old AMD system, just wondering what is going on here.
I have asked twice about the WD Hard Drives that are 16-MB Cache instead of the 32-MB Cache and received a no-answer-answer. Why would DS sell 16-MB Cache HDD instead of 32-MB HDD? Yes, I know you can ask for something special, but these are not special. They are only a few dollars more and sometimes cheaper when on sale. Is there a quality difference in the drives?
I'm not trying to bash the company, I'm simple trying to insure the validity of the company along with the quality and value of the components before I buy.
If I don't receive reasonable response this time, I'll quit asking.
Thanks,
Jim

This forum is more for member's discussion, DS does not provide official support thru forum, for detail questions its best you call them.
I will be very honest with you, for $989, we can go build you a PC ourselves and you are not going to end up with an i7, its most likely going to be a dual core, and it won't be a pc you can upgrade later either. Edited by DST4ME - 10 Apr 2009 at 2:50pm |
