ive read in a comple places that the reviewers "were not pleased" with the dual monitor support of th2 9800gx2

All of that said, the GX2 is still an SLI-based product, so it has its weaknesses. Multi-GPU schemes require driver updates in order to work optimally with newer games. This is an almost inescapable situation given today's hardware and software realities. Worse yet, the GX2's multi-monitor support is as poor as any SLI config's. The card can accelerate 3D games on only one display, and one must switch manually between multi-GPU mode and multi-display mode via the control panel. This arrangement is light-years behind the seamless multi-monitor support in AMD's drivers. Nvidia really needs to address this shortcoming if it expects products like the GX2 to become a staple of its lineup.

what exactly does the 3d accel mean, sounds like a noob question, but i didnt want to assume i knew. Does this mean that you can watch a movie on one screen and play a game on the other, but you can not 2 box wow (for example) with one wow window on each monitor?
and what is multiGPU vs multi monitor? ... does it literally split the "SLI"ed cards to drive each monitor seperately, or can you set it to just run 2 monitors as if it were one card?

*side note does anyone know the exact size of this beast? ive yet to find any actual measurements*

Multi-GPU = SLI, increases performance but does not support multi monitors.
Multi-display = disables SLI to let you run multiple monitors.

so does "accelerate 3D games on only one display" mean that you can only have a game on your main display?

Accelerate 3d games on only one display is just another way of saying improve performance of games on only one display.
