My first DS computer was my Dreadnaught. I bought it with 2 670 GPUs and then replaced them with a 1080ti. At some time my UPS battery back up failed and I replaced it. Some time later, not sure how long, my 1080 Ti started to have coil whine. Some thing convinced me that the mother board was going bad, so I ordered a new DS Lumos computer with no GPU.
After I received it I installed my 1080TI and was disappointed that my 1080 Ti still had coil whine.

Not too long ago I had to replace my replacement UPS battery backup failed so I plugged my computer directly into the wall and the coil whine disappeared. I have since replaced my USP battery backup with a new one that is larger. And no coil whine.

I can only assume that my coil whine was an inadequate battery backup all this time.

I do have a new Lumos on order, and one of the reasons was to get something that did not have excessive coil whine.

My old 1080 whine and seems like this was a common "known" among most users... in the end, it was always some combo of FPS + power draw.

I remember going and reading about coil whine in the 10xx series, but for some reason I did not ever connect a faulty/underpowered battery backup as a problem.

What model UPS do you have? I use an APC XS1500 and also have a ZeroSurge protector between it and the wall. The monitors and sound system are in a separate UPS. Overkill maybe but no issues except the normal battery replacement every so many years. And they both get a good workout during lightning/thunder storm season.

I had it on a APC BE600M1 and now it is on an APC BE 850M2

I think that is enough given I have a Corsair 850W power supply.

Plus the Heaven BM does not cause any coil whine

I am not as worried about how long the computer stays up, we do sometimes have momentary power outages, often only for a few seconds.
