Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master 942 HAF X ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE (Intel Z77 Chipset) AIR: Stage 2: Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 Extreme Performance if I go with this setup here that I have, will this limit the amount of ram that I will be able to put in? I do want to be able to go with 4 sticks at 4gigs each for 16g's another question? is there a better cooler than the nhd14 that I could go with that digital storm does not offer or that anybody knows of would be of much helps thanks guys. |

Hi Bloxter.... The Deluxe board has four ram slots, so no problem there.
The Noctua D14 is the best air cooler that I know of. There is the Phantek TC 14 with a couple of variations you could also consider, but the performance is the same. The Phanteks I believe do have different colored fans, 5 colors I think, that hook to the fins for those with a windowed side panel. I haven't heard of any issues to that regard. Digital Storm could tell you for sure - they build countless PCs.

I guess I misunderstood the question. Like xii and Asangard said, if DS does it, no problem. They fit the right sticks.
If you do yourself, the safe bet is to use ram sticks without the tall heat spreaders. They are mainly for looks anyways and unless you do high oc'ing yourself to push the envelpoe, aren't needed. Here's a compatability quide. |
