I guess I posted asking for help in the wrong section before, so I decided to give it another shot:
1. My Budget: Is $2000 w/o S&H. I do not need a monitor, keyboard or mouse, as they will be purchased separately.
2. Expectations: Looking for a computer that will allow me to play the latest games, and no I'm not looking for the highest settings, but I would like for the games to be played as intended. Lastly I would like to upgrade this rig for 3D gaming on multiple monitors in the near future.
3. Usage: I'm looking for a rig that is sufficient for 70% gaming, 20% web surfing and downloading, and 10% networking my movies for Xbox 360 and PS3. I went with the basics initially, but I am still a little confused about the cooling. id stick with the evga sli 3 board, its more common and better supported around here
if you are planning to go up to 3 monitors with 3d vision id suggest a minimum of 2 gtx 470s which would need 1000w power or 2 480s which you should get 1200ws for
cooling: noctua u12p
you sure you dotn want some more hdd space for recording?

Understand the evga sli 3 board, as for the x2 470's/x2 480's well to be honest I believe this will exceed my meager budget of 2k, will upgrade to the 1000w PSU. Will reconfigure to add the noctua u12p, as far as hdd, I was planning on using externals e.g.. 2 TB, your thoughts? Or if you could suggest a decent build for me in the budget posted that'd be really good. lol

i think you maybe misunderstood, 1000w psu = 2:470s, 1200w psu = 2:480
as far as a build in that range, id usually say 1 480 would be perfect, but 3 monitors = 3xresolution, so you need more graphic power
http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadsaved.asp?id=446263 if you want tri-monitor
external hdds are fine
and to pre-answer your question, 1156 / i7 860 // 1336 / i7 950 will have no difference on your gaming, or really anythign else besides your memory bandwidth synthetic benchmark tests.
